Self-Love
NOUN
: an appreciation of one's own worth or virtue
Our actions are a great indicator of how we are loving ourselves; our actions expressing our knowledge of our self worth. Choosing to move towards long term satisfaction versus instant gratification, honoring our values and intuition versus creating justifications and ultimately betraying our deepest nature are ways in which can show up and exercise self-love. Sometimes it’s about taking a longer approach rather than a short cut or it can be about patience and being still. Other times is about activating our solar plexus or throat chakra and being proactive or speaking up for ourselves. Taking a moment to get in touch within, whether that be a yoga practice, breath work, time in nature or listening to a favorite song, we can do a body scan, an emotional scan and see where there might be a hunch. We can listen to that and then feel into various scenarios where our heart feels the lightest. As the ancients measured their heart against that of an ostrich feather, we too have the ability to energetically and symbolically apply the same principle. And once this practice is in place, we too feel lighter, more aligned and able to bask in the waters of true love, unconditional love coming from within.
