Project: A Return to Life, Love
Mississippi
Photographer, Justin Haridman

Captured in Mississippi by acclaimed artist and photographer Justin Hardiman from Jackson, MS, the shoot is a story of lineage, resilience, tradition and history. In the third photo, Sarah is photographed on the porch of the one room schoolhouse her grandmother, great grandmother and family attended. During a time when it was prohibited for people of color to read and write, the schoolhouse was a refuge for those wanting to further their education and life's circumstances. The schoolhouse is now a historic monument in the state of Mississippi.

In ancient cultures we find that the alchemical process of creation was infused with intention and information from across disciplines.  All things interconnected. Science with spirituality, spirituality with art, art and beauty infused into all - whether it were architecture, music, landscaping, public and city design, medicine or beyond. One of the greatest and original expressions of this interconnectedness is generously exemplified in the complexity of the human design. Humans are privileged to be consciously aware of their visceral, primal and mortal body while simultaneously witnessing the experiences and pursuit of the supernatural, the immortal, the timeless. This piece is designed to be an elemental experience in interconnectedness - of  bridging both the higher and lower natures that exist in the human being through visuals, sound, movement and breath. Combining studies and inspiration of ancient wisdom, traditional yoga with developmental movement, music, storytelling, and mindfulness for the modern day, we come together in atmospheric reflection. Here we are.

Overview: Amid the motorbikes, neon cafés, and restless energy of Bali, a quiet revolution glows in the shadows. For three years, Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde and local Balinese collaborators have worked to bring back a species that had almost disappeared: the firefly. In Indonesia, these small beacons are more than creatures; they are threads of cultural memory, woven into stories, songs, and nights beneath the stars. This film is an intimate, luminous love story between people and nature. Each flicker in the dark is a signal, a call to a mate, a whisper of longing, a brief reunion in the night. Yet their fading glow carries a warning: we may be the last generation to witness this living light.Shot under red light invisible to fireflies, the film enters their world without disturbance, offering a rare, unguarded view of their silent courtship. More than a document, it is a poetic call to action, imagining a kind of eco-tourism where human presence restores rather than erodes, and where the balance between people and the natural world can be rebuilt, spark by spark.
