Lately, I’ve noticed how easily nostalgia sweeps me away. A memory, tender and pure, can pull me back for hours—mesmerizing, replaying, re-living. Does anyone else not only dream about the future, but also wander back into the past?

Our memory is selective. It paints the highlights in golden light and quietly erases the shadows. And yet, when I look closer, I realize those moments weren’t just about the people or places—they were reflections of who I was at that time. Even if we tried to recreate them, we’ve changed. The old shell no longer fits.

Living in Bali now, surrounded by beauty, laughter, and a new circle of friends, I still catch myself drifting to “the good ole days” back home with family and loved ones. Sometimes I linger there so long, I miss the magic unfolding right here in front of me.

This season is teaching me the art of surrender—to soften into the present moment and truly embrace the life I once prayed for. Renewal is not about erasing what came before, but about honoring it with gratitude, and then stepping forward—alive, aware, open.

That’s what inspired this week’s YouTube video: a meditation on renewal. Becoming anew. Allowing the past to rest where it belongs, while we root ourselves in now and lean toward the light of what’s next.

What a precious gift life is.

With love,

Sarah
